John Oakes
Fingal - WestPlans for the multi-million euro refurbishment of Hi,
My name is John Oakes I am a single father of one grown up child. I am a self-employed gas fitter. I have lived in Balbriggan for over 30 years and know the needs, strengths and fears of this great community. In the course of this time I have seen Balbriggan grow from a population of 15,000 people to its current of over 25,000. I am very encouraged by the ongoing rejuvenation projects underway but still the centre of the town looks like no mans land with derelict properties.
As the town and area grows it is my concern that immigration into the area is carefully controlled and monitored. People I have spoken with in the town who have moved here from a different jurisdiction as well as local people have expressed their fears that illegal immigration cannot continue.
My main concerns for the country are uncontrolled immigration, housing, and rampant crime. I am also concerned with the governments woke policy regarding the value of our women and girls. I am fully committed to the preservation of women’s safe places. i.e female locker rooms for females.
I have decided to contest the local elections in Fingal west. If successful, then possibly further. I am very concerned with the government’s current direction (or lack of) and lack of connect with the Irish people.
